Working with the international community

As Canada’s national human rights institution, the Commission responsible for monitoring and reporting on whether Canada is meeting its international human rights obligations. We also lend our expertise to other nations to help them build their capacity to hold their own governments to account.

In 2019, in our various submissions and statements before the United Nations, we called on the Canadian government to take stronger action to prevent and address all forms of discrimination and violence against women, and to improve the lives of those living with disabilities.
